Service Car
Work started in February 2008 on designing a service car for my layout. As no such kit is available the tram is scratch built by combining parts of a Tower Tram kit and a railway meat van. The Tram has been designed to suit a Tenshodo spud with a 35mm wheel base.
I have used a lot of artists licence in making this tram and have tried to combine elements of two service cars which operated in Birmingham, service car No. 01 which was converted from a sand van in 1924 for overhead inspection and the Permanent Way "scrubber" car No. 8 which was mainly for grinding our rail corrugations.
